Janelle Koenig

Western Australia’s First Lady of Comedy, Janelle Koenig, has spent almost 25 years making people laugh — on stage, on screen, on radio and while they’re supposed to be working. A powerhouse comedian, writer, director, MC and professional show-off, Janelle has worked alongside Jimeoin, Alan Davies, Wayne Brady and Joel Creasey, and written for comedy heavyweights including Em Rusciano, Mary Coustas and Jimeoin. With razor-sharp wit and killer(ish) vocals, she was selected for NBC’s Last Comic Standing and has amassed over 30,000 online followers and 20 million content views. Her head-writer credits include Eurovision – Australia Decides, SBS’s award-winning Mardi Gras broadcast, Take Me Out and The Real Housewives of Sydney Reunion. She’s starred in Priscilla Queen of the Desert and We Will Rock You, hosted major WA events including Perth Pride and Universal Pictures’ Wicked premieres, and produces the sell-out comedy gala Let’s Hear It For The Girls. A proud Kids Cancer Support Group ambassador, Janelle calls herself a real woman — but she’s keeping the skinny jeans, just in case.
