Based in Perth, Western Australia - Andrew Wolfe somehow balances the chaos of finance as stockbroker with the chaos of comedy, and reckons the two careers aren’t that different: both involve high risk, big egos, and reading a room under pressure. Andrew Wolfe’s style is unlike any other comedian we’ve seen - A genius in his own right! His routine is intense and brutally honest. Influenced by the likes of Eddie Murphy, Steve Hughes, and even a certain wild South African comic, he brings a fearless energy to the stage that’s as entertaining as it is unpredictable. He’s not afraid to talk about the nights that bomb, the hecklers that bite back, or the mental gymnastics it takes to keep going in comedy - and that honesty is exactly what makes him so watchable. Off stage, he dives deep into life, comedy, and everything in between on his podcast \"Mate, It's a Sure Thing.\" But it’s his recent win at Comedy Lounge’s 2025 National Standup Comedy Competition - taking out the top prize of $10,000 AUD that’s turned heads across the country and cemented Andrew Wolfe as a rising force in the scene. He regularly performs standup comedy at Comedy Lounge. White uses his sharp wit and legal expertise to deliver \"anti-establishment and provocative\" comedy that challenges audiences' worldviews. His fearless approach has earned him both praise and criticism, solidifying his position as one of the most exciting and \"dangerous\" voices in Australian comedy. White is a vocal critic of censorship and the increasing restrictions on free speech, believing that these limitations are a threat to the art of comedy. He argues that \"the walls of censorship are closing in,\" and that comedians have a responsibility to push back against these restrictions. White sees comedy as a vital form of social and cultural mediation, arguing that it can \"join dots, address contradictions, hypocrisies,\" and even \"alter people's reality.\" His outspoken views on issues like the COVID-19 pandemic and government overreach have made him a target of criticism, with some accusing him of having \"fascist undertones.\" He argues that his critics are \"angered and amused at the same time\" by his material and that the \"coexistence of those emotions\" is something they struggle to deal with. White has been \"emphatically vindicated\" in his views on the pandemic, as the information that was censored at the time has since come to light. He feels that comedians played a \"pivotal\" role in the pandemic, particularly those who \"mocked people who had different views.\" Be sure to Corey White at an upcoming comedy show at Comedy Lounge in Perth Western Australia, where he'll deliver a thought-provoking and hilarious set that will leave you questioning everything you thought you knew.","jobTitle":"Comedian","image":"https://manage.comedylounge.com.au/api/storage/public-objects/comedians/tenant-1/77483abd-b72c-454f-b50d-49ae176d10c4"},{"@type":"Person","@id":"https://comedylounge.com.au/comedians/brian-shields","name":"Brian Shields","description":"Brian Shields, affectionately known as \"Buddha,\" is a prominent figure in Perth's comedy scene, celebrated for his engaging stand-up performances and dynamic presence as an MC.
